Bio

Miles Allen lives at Flaxton and has been an artist for 25 years. He has held 19 solo exhibitions since 2002 and has shown work in over a 100 group shows and competitions. He has had work in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize, SWELL Sculpture Festival and Sculpture on the Edge which he won in 2016. He has work in the collections of Sunshine Coast Art Collection, Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, Mater Private Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital amongst others.

His work doesn’t fit into a neat description. He describes himself as a multi-disciplinary artist whose more recent work has included sculpture and installation art. He conducts an ongoing exploration into recycling a variety of materials in a variety of ways.

He has been greatly influenced by traveling and working throughout central Australia over the last few years.

His art is about seeing beauty in ordinary things, crossing cultures, promoting conversations, joy and humour.

He is represented by Fireworks Gallery in Newstead.
