Were amongst the finest of all works at the time. The illustration are vivid, beautifully coloured wood engraving. The book was a guide for keeping parrots as pets. The plates created by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) after drawings by Alexander F. Lydon-Fawcett using a colour printing technique known as chromoxylography.
