August Artist
EXHIBITION OF EMBROIDERED PHOTOGRAPHS
BY JENNIFER EURELL
Jennifer Eurell’s current exhibition at the Mapleton Community Library is of her embroidered photographs. Jennifer lives in Mapleton and has always dabbled around in art and generally describes herself as a mixed media artist and printmaker. In the early 2000s she completed a diploma in art, followed by a degree in fine art which inspired her to experiment a bit more and somewhere along the way she couldn’t resist combining a couple of interests – photography and hand stitching.
Jennifer says that her art lies somewhere between a hobby and a passion, and that she has an interest in repetition, shapes and patterns and likes the way that the hand stitching adds another layer to her work. This is what has led to this interesting and unusual little exhibition of embroidered photographs. The exhibition is on till the 4th August.
